The Center for Trauma and Children will be starting the 2026 -7 Trauma Informed Practices for Educators and School Personnel Learning Collaborative on 10/27/26. We would appreciate it if you could share the information below with school or district staff who may be interested in joining! This in-depth training is open to any Kentucky school personnel and participants can earn CEUS and/or EILA. The registration link below provides more details. Trauma-Informed Practices for Educators and School Personnel (TIPE) Learning Collaborative — 2026-2027
TIPE gives school staff in-depth knowledge of trauma-informed practices and the chance to apply them in their own buildings. Across five learning sessions and three implementation calls, participants learn how trauma affects the developing brain and shows up in cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral functioning; practice school-based strategies that build resilience and support self-regulation; address the impact of secondary trauma on staff; and build a trauma-informed team with a real implementation plan. The collaborative also helps prepare schools to meet the requirements of the School Safety and Resiliency Act.
- Cost: No charge. Training materials are included.
- Format: Fully virtual, live via Zoom.
- Continuing education: Available for EILA, FRYSC, Social Work, and Psychology.

We recommend sending a team of 5 to 7 school personnel. The strongest teams are interdisciplinary — teachers, school counselors, school psychologists, school social workers, administrative leaders, and school safety or resource officers. Individuals are welcome to attend on their own as well.
