 i-SAFE Training Opportunities
According to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, 48 million children between the ages of 5 to 17 now use computers spending approximately 6 billion hours online annually. The FBI reported in 2002 Online Child Pornography/child sexual exploitation is the most significant cyber crime problem confronting the FBI that involves crimes against children. This issue alone merits parental and teacher awareness and involvement.
iSafe has an online professional development component, iLearn.
These training modules teach and/or train  educators on the i-SAFE curriculum. Internet safety concepts and instruction on implementing the i-SAFE Internet Safety Program are included. Register and complete any or all six modules ranging from Cyber Safety to Cyber Predators.
Internet Safety Education for Students and Parents The Kentucky Attorney General’s Office is committed to working with students and parents in Kentucky to educate them about possible dangers that may result from being online, such as internet sex predators, cyberbullying and harassment, embarrassment and lost opportunities because of online postings, and identity theft.  The Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection has developed presentations for middle and high school students and parents. i-SAFE extends education beyond the classroom with Community Outreach. These trainings have programs for students, educators, parents, law enforcement, and community leaders. The best way for a student to take a concept and make it their own is with the support of their community. The Youth Empowerment team helps Student Mentors take the message of Internet safety to their peers, their family, and their community. The i-PARENT program helps parents team up to bridge the "Digital Divide" that separates them and their kids. The i-SHIELD program brings together all divisions of law enforcement for one cause - cyber safety. i-SAFE is the only Internet safety program anywhere that incorporates outreach elements in its education materials and process
i-Parent Campaign  i-SAFE recognizes that a digital divide exists between parents and their children when it comes to the use of technology. In most cases, the kids know more about the Internet and new technology than their parents.
